Variety shows emerged from the music hall and vaudeville formats in live theater; they originated on the radio but the idea migrated to television in the late fifties, leaving radio to settle in to become what it still is today, a steady source of news, opinion and the most popular music. There's no argument that satellite radio, podcasts and mp3 players are changing the face of radio again.
What if there was a radio show that you couldn't tune into from the comfort of your car, or your living room, or your office (when the boss isn't around, of course)? What if you had to actually go someplace to hear it? But what if that meant you could watch the people put together the show? Now to us, that started to sound like fun.
So we tell tales about small-town life and invite everyone to share a little laughter with us about things that, well, we may have gotten so used to 'em that we forgot how funny they are. Something in each show might remind you of someone you know, or even yourself, no matter where you live.
Catch a show and let us know what you think.
